The clock that counts twice

Lived Time Clock

This clock counts two kinds of time: the time elapsed since the project began, and the much smaller part of that time I have spent in contact with my loved ones. It measures the pain of being far away by placing those numbers beside each other, calculating the arithmetic of distance and love.

The difference is the point.

The circular clock keeps the loved time glowing. The other views make the gap harder to miss: one bar fills slowly, one bar keeps moving, and the ratio keeps translating feeling into number.

one hour held close against the hours that keep passing elsewhere

That is only 0% of the time since this project began.

For every 1 hour spent with loved ones, about 0 hours have passed outside that contact.

The gap is still growing.

This clock does not simply measure longing. It measures love, and how lucky I am to have so much of it.
